Chandrika Bhattacharya is a versatile singer, successfully performing in different Fields of Music.
Earlier Years :
Chandrika was born on 10th december, in a traditional, close-knit Bengal family in Konnagar, West Bengal.
Chandrika grew up in a rich cultural environment of Rabindra Sangeet. She took up classical singing at the age of four. Subsequently she concentrated on music by the time.She received training from Santanu Bhattacharya (her father), late Kallol Roy, Subir Bhattacharya, Sri Jayanta Sarkar and Sri Brajeswar Mukherjee. Father Shri Santanu Bhattacharya as eminent singer and mother Smt. Durba were her first inspiration.
Chandrika studied at Nabagram Hiralal Paul Balika Vidyalaya in Konnagar and moved to kolkata to study engineering at North Calcutta Polytechnic College and then she completed her engineering at Supreme knowledge foundation group of institution.
In the meantime, she shifted her focus to music, and eventually traveled to the Kolkata to continue to learn music at the Sagarika Music Academy.
Singing Career :
Chandrika did first solo stage performance at the age of fourteen. Subsequently Chandrika became a regular performer in stage shows. She is equally comfortable in popular Hindi and Bengali numbers, old melodies and recent chartbusters, ghazals and rock numbers. She works with several reputed musical band.Thereafter she briefly concentrated on solo shows of her own band 'CHANDRIKA LIVE'.
Chandrika has participated in The Reality Show named Zee Bangla SA RE GA MA PA 2017. She was one of the finest Finalist. Her soulful voice and power-pack performances moved the Judges. Her Versatility is her strength.
Chandrika has already done solo performances in all major Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Coimbatore, Vizag, Jabolpur, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Ghatshila, Jamshedpur, Bhubaneswar. Apart from her solo shows, she has also performed alongside singing stalwarts like Bapi Lahiri, Sabbir Kumar, Vinod Rathore, Kumar Sanu, Usha Uthhup, and many more.
Chandrika's first solo album – “AMI CHANDRIKA” is launched on December 17th, 2012 – 3.00 PM at Press Club Kolkata.
Chandrika has done playback in some Bengali Films as well. Like "Dramadol", "Jobor Dokhol", "Babu-r Biye", "Danga" etc.
Chandrika Has Performed in various TV Musical Shows Like "Good Morning Akash" , "Akash Aat ADDABAZ", "Gaandariya" etc.
Chandrika has sung in several tv serials also, Like "Debi Choudhurani", "Saat Bhai Champa", "Mayar Badhon", "Om Namah Shivay".
Recently she had sung for some new Daily soaps of "Sun Bangla" Tv Channel.
Interest :
Chandrika is an avid photographer. Her subjects vary from portrait and pristine nature to urban landscape. She is a regular contributor to a few web based photography communities, comprising of like minded people.
Some words about 'AMI CHANDRIKA' album :
This album is consists of two cd. One is of eight different tracks of modern bengali songs and other is of rabindra sangeet. lots of traditional instruments have been used in this album. Apart from compute music, sarod, flute , setar, pakhwaj, khamak, esraj, violin have been used here.
First recording of this album was started at studio melodisk. Only the take of sarod and flute was done on that day.
First vocal take was done in Studio Resonance. The songs entitled 'ami marer sagor pari debo', 'kothao jeno keu nei' and 'bohudur path baki' was recorded on that day.
Maximum vocal take of this album was done at studio fusion pro like 'dure oi ure jaay', 'tomar chokher agune' 'khuda khuda' and many mores. The recording of the instrument like flute, violin and shehnai was mostly done in studio dhoon.
Speech and poetry portion before rabindra sangeet was recorded in studo uma. The recording of the song 'borsha konay' was done in studio world, not only that, the recording of backing vocals and esraj was also done over there.
With Srikanto Acharya in Studio World
This very album was released on 17th dec, 2012 at kolkata press club. Renowned artists like Srikanto Acharya, Pankaj Adhikary and others like them were present on that day. The presentation of traditional rabindra sangeet has been done little differently with an unique test by combining songs and poems together.
